{"id":309,"date":"2017-01-30T18:34:50","date_gmt":"2017-01-30T18:34:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/the7.io\/beauty-studio\/?p=309"},"modified":"2023-02-16T21:45:43","modified_gmt":"2023-02-16T08:45:43","slug":"nzfc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alexlee.co.nz\/en_US\/nzfc\/","title":{"rendered":"NZFC reviews Screen Australia's screen incentives and rebates"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row type=&#8221;vc_default&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p class=\"sics-component__html-injector sics-component__story__intro sics-component__story__paragraph\">The New Zealand Film Commission is currently studying the detail of Australia&#8217;s latest attempt to lure Hollywood productions to the other side of the Tasman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sics-component__html-injector sics-component__story__paragraph\">Earlier this month, Australia&#8217;s federal government announced a\u00a0new, four-year A$140m (NZ$151m)\u00a0pot of taxpayer funds aimed at ensuring their film industry &#8220;remained vibrant and competitive&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sics-component__html-injector sics-component__story__paragraph\">What the announcement effectively means is that foreign productions shooting in Australia will receive a 30 per cent rebate on the money they spend there from July 1, rather than the current 16.5 per cent (which had been\u00a0topped up on ad hoc basis).
